Update: Our 'Not Guilty' Appeal is now closed and all seven dogs have gone on to find wonderful new homes either via us or through other rescues-details of which are on our facebook page; thank you to everyone for their fantastic support and help!
Not Guilty! But in need of help and loving homes! DDA Watch have taken in seven dogs that have all been held for a year in police care. Five of the dogs were born in kennels and know nothing else. We do not have our own kennels and kennelling costs are at an all time high. Each of the five males and two girls will need to be neutered. While we have been given a discounted rate costs for neutering will be £850 in total. Can you help by sponsoring one of the dogs featured below while they wait for their forever home?

Update July 2014: Flump is staying with his fantastic foster mum and family for now-it is very much hoped this will be able to be a permanent situation, he's a very happy boy!
Lovely Flump:
The very adorable Flump is looking for a forever home where he can settle down with a loving family. He is two years old, neutered, micro-chipped, fully vaccinated and wormed.
Flump is currently in a foster home in Lancashire and living in an all adult home and also living with two cats.
He can be re-homed with older children and cats subject to introductions and is suited to a home without other resident dogs.
Flump was in kennels for some time prior to moving to his current foster home, he has come on in leaps and bounds with his current foster family and is having to move through no fault of his own, they are all going to be very sorry to see him go.
Flump is house trained and will ask to go outside to the toilet; he will wake you up in the morning to be taken for his morning toilet and he loves his home comforts and toys. Flump also loves mud and running wild in the garden, he is joyful to watch! He is very well mannered on a lead when out for walks and loves long walks.
Flump travels well in the car and has also travelled well on the bus. He is motivated and willing to learn, enjoying the one to one attention and has mastered lots of basic commands already.
Flump has been quite happy to visit the vets and didn't mind being examined. Flump has a rope ball and also a rope cube which he loves to play catch with, in the garden and on walks he just loves mud!
Flump will need a home where there is someone home most of the time as he does not currently enjoy being left alone, this is being worked on whilst he's is his foster home; he now has a peanut butter filled Kong and an antler chew to help stimulate and keep him occupied when left. Flump is a gorgeous boy who loves nothing more than a cuddle and deserves his forever family. What you give to him will be returned tenfold.
There is a time limit on Flump remaining with his current foster family due to their personal situation and so we hope to find Flump a permanent home soon so he doesn't have to return to kennels.
All adoptions are subject to written agreement and potential homes are thoroughly vetted first.
We offer life time back up for all our rescue dogs.

Marvellous Merlin
Merlin is just 1 year old and was born in kennels after his mum was seized as a potentially banned breed. A year later and Merlin, his mum and some of his siblings were released to DDA Watch as legal breeds. Merlin is not available for rehoming yet. He is a very loving dog but is also very scared. During his first week with us he could not look directly at anyone nor let himself be stroked but he enjoyed the company of people and liked listening to us speaking to him.
Merlin is improving daily and we have no doubt that he will become a happy go lucky loving addition to someone’s family in the future. Until he is ready to leave us Merlin will continue to be worked with and build his confidence up. Keep checking back for updates on how this wonderful lad is getting on.

Cuddlesome Cooper
Cooper is just 1 year old and was born in kennels after his mum was seized as a potentially banned breed. A year later and Cooper, his mum and some of his siblings were released to DDA Watch as legal breeds. Cooper loves to be cuddled and has amazing blue eyes with the most fantastic black eyeliner that earnt him his name Cooper after Alice Cooper! Cooper is finding the rush of hormones a little too much but this will be dealt with as he is soon to be neutered!
Cooper is a lovely boy who would like a home with no young children due to his bouncy nature. We would prefer Cooper to be an only dog as he will need to be treated as a puppy – he will need to be housetrained and learn what it is to live in a house. However we would not rule out a home with a neutered bitch if the home is right.
Cooper has been sponsored by The Company of Animals to be neutered! http://www.companyofanimals.co.uk/

Gentle Josie
Josie is the mum of the bunch. She is just two years old and unlike her pups she has known what a home is like. Sadly her owners couldn’t have her back so she came to us. Josie has been through the mill having had 8 puppies in police kennels yet she is one of the steadiest dogs I’ve had the pleasure to meet. She has basic training and will adapt to a home quickly once reminded to be clean in the home and aware of house rules. She’s very quick to learn and sits and gives her paw. Her favourite food is chicken Kievs! Josie would like a home again with older children as she is a large dog and someone home most of the time to help her settle back into the real world. Josie will reward you with the most love you have ever had in your life!

A year later and Boo, his mum and some of his siblings were released to DDA Watch as legal breeds. Boo is the smiler of the gang. He loves everything and everyone and despite is harsh past finds the world a great place to be! With one blue eye he has a beautiful face someone is sure to fall in love with.

Lil' Miss Molly
Molly is also a mum but unlike Josie Molly’s pups were deemed to be banned breeds. As a result the law would not allow us to take them and her 7 babies were destroyed because of the way they looked. We would have taken them if we could.
Molly is just two years old and she has known what a home is like. Molly is a very loving girl with some training. She is always happy and her favourite pastime is the all important belly rubs! Like Josie, Molly would like a home with someone at home most of the time to help retrain her. A bright girl she will pick it up easily! No young children and preferred no other dogs although may consider a home with a neutered male.

Take Me Home Tigger
Tigger is just 1 year old and was born in kennels after his mum was seized as a potentially banned breed. A year later and Tigger, his mum and some of his siblings were released to DDA Watch as legal breeds. Tigger takes after his name! Hes bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun and the wonderful thing about Tigger is he IS the only one! He is sure to give out kisses given half the chance and adores everyone he meets.
Tigger is a lovely boy who would like a home with no young children due to his bouncy nature. We would prefer Tigger to be an only dog as he will need to be treated as a puppy – he will need to be housetrained and learn what it is to live in a house. Hug Me Harry
Harry is just 1 year old and was born in kennels after his mum was seized as a potentially banned breed. A year later and Harry his mum and some of his siblings were released to DDA Watch as legal breeds. Harry takes after his name! He wants hugs all day long and at the moment is finding it hard to keep all feet on the ground as he's sure he can in fact leap into your arms to get the cuddle. At over 30kgs Harry is learning that’s not how you do it! Harry is a very quick learner and will make a great obedience dog or similar with someone willing to train him to the high standard he can reach.
Harry is a lovely boy who would like a home with no young children due to his bouncy nature. We would prefer Harry to be an only dog as he will need to be treated as a puppy – he will need to be house trained and learn what it is to live in a house.
